 If you have read any of the "Stupids" books by Harry Allard and James Marshall, then you'll know where Dav got the inspiration for the "Dumb Bunnies" books.

Ever since Dav wrote "Dragon Gets By", he had longed to create a series using that type of humor. But he didn't have a clue as to how to write these books, or where to find the characters.
| "Then late one night it just hit me. I was walking my dog in the rain along the Willamette River in Eugene, Oregon. We stopped to look at the river, then suddenly I thought: 'The Dumb Bunnies!' I started thinking about all the funny things I could do with these silly characters, and began to smile. Before long I was giggling. I think I spent about an hour out there in the cold, pouring rain, just looking at the river and laughing my head off.
